Restore your original setup
Use the local restore tools with the package list and records from your own TV.
Before you need it
Keep the computer folder used for setup, the exact debloat list you applied, and the package-state records saved by the project tools. The restore tools use the same list to find the corresponding records. A list downloaded for another television is not a substitute for your own setup records.
When to restore
Restore if a change affects the Home button, remote, sound, inputs, or casting, or if you prefer your original setup. Stop making further package changes while you identify what changed.
- Keep the TV and the original setup computer on the same local network. Temporarily enable the required debugging option again, and approve only your computer's authorization request.
- Open the extracted source package and locate the exact package list used during setup, usually under
examples/or in a list you created. Keep its recorded states available on the same computer. - Download the appropriate local restore file: Windows PowerShell or macOS/Linux. Place the file in the extracted
tools/directory so it can use the adjacenttv.pyandrecovery.pyfiles. - Have it confirm the TV address, original Home owner, and matching package list before applying the restore plan. Use your device's records rather than guessing a manufacturer launcher package.
- Press the physical Home button and check the original launcher, HDMI inputs, remote, audio, and casting. Close debugging again, revoke authorizations, reboot, and verify the connection is closed.
What the records can restore
With matching records, the recovery logic can replay saved package-enabled states, the original Home component, and recorded animation scales. Packages that were already disabled before setup should remain disabled.
Without matching records, the tools warn and may fall back to enabling the packages in the supplied list rather than recovering each original state. Read that plan carefully. Do not describe a missing record as a complete backup.
Restoration does not reinstall a whole operating system, undo unrelated manual edits, or uninstall the new launcher. If the new launcher remains installed after restoring the original Home screen, that alone does not mean restoration failed.
If the TV cannot be reached
Start with the connection troubleshooting guide. If a firmware-specific launcher or input problem remains, download the source package, then read its docs/TROUBLESHOOTING.md and the report for your exact model under docs/devices/. Avoid trying another model's package list.
